Jules Jaffe is a Research Oceanographer at the Scripps Inst. of Oceanography in La Jolla. Dr. Jaffe is widely acknowledged to be an international leader in the development of instruments for underwater exploration. His work has bridged working on the ARGO system that discovered the Titanic in 1985 to his current work in underwater miniature vehicles and optical microscopy. Dr. Jaffe is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America and has received various awards for presentations at international meetings. The U. S. Navy, the U. S. National Science Foundation and several philanthropic foundations such as the Keck Foundation have supported his work.
